Hi!

First, let me thank you for checking out our website. Instead of a generic About Us page, I’ll tell you a little bit about myself and DÙNDÚ.

My name is Foluso Salami, I am the founder and owner of DÙNDÚ. I’m a classically trained chef with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management. DÙNDÚ was born out of my persistence and passion for cooking, particularly Nigerian cuisine. Prior to my enrollment at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), I was a corporate oil and gas attorney. However, it was clear to me that I needed more than my home-cooking experience to realize my dream of bringing the dishes from my childhood to foodies everywhere. So, once I was accepted into the CIA, I resigned from Shell Oil Nigeria, packed up my bags, and moved to New York. This was the beginning of my journey as an immigrant in America.

After featuring at various pop-up locations in New York, DÙNDÚ has now opened its first very own restaurant location in Midtown Manhattan. DÙNDÚ offers delicious and authentic West African favorites like Jollofrice, Peppered Grilled Chicken, and Moinmoin, as well as innovative offerings such as DÙNDÚ’s Mango Habanero Vinaigrette, which has a clear Nigerian flavor profile to elevate your simple salad greens.

Alongside everyone on the DÙNDÚ team, I’m very excited and proud to share the foods I grew up eating with the world, and there is no better place to start than New York City. Our goal is to create Nigerian food lovers one bowl at a time. Our team hopes you stop by in person or order from our menu online. We can’t wait to meet you!
